Wesolve Foundation Inc. is seeking interns to help out on the Scoping Study on the Private Sector Engagement Strategy to Accelerate Biodiversity Financing in the Philippines.
The scoping study will:
assess the biodiversity investment and financing landscape in the Philippines;
identify facilitating and hindering factors in investing in and financing biodiversity;
assess policy structure of biodiversity financing among commercial and development finance institutions;
identify existing policies that provide opportunities for impact investment, public-private partnerships (PPPs) and blended finance; and
review international best practices on biodiversity financing.

EXPECTED RESPONSIBILITIES & OUTPUTS
Under the supervision and guidance of the Project Manager and Project Associate, the interns are expected to provide the following support to the Project Team:
Transcription of interviews. Recording of the interview will be submitted to the intern immediately after the session. Attendance during the interview is not required. Finished transcriptions will be submitted by the intern at least two (2) full working days after submission of interview recording.
Data Analysis & related research. Key points from each interview are to be summarized at the end of each transcription and sent to the Project Team with any recommended further references linked
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, COMPETENCIES
The ideal candidate is a fast and efficient worker, team player, and demonstrates a growth mindset. While we recognize each person’s experience is unique, the ideal candidate will likely have had exposure or interest in the following areas:
Transcribing interviews and FGDs among high-level corporate and financing management
Environmental studies and sustainable development (interest and experience in sustainability and biodiversity financing is a plus)
Being part of teams in social impact projects
Additionally, experience in any or all of the following is desirable:
Policy advocacy
Private-Public-People Partnerships
INGO, NGO or civil society programming
WORK TIMELINE & ARRANGEMENT
The position is project-based, and the successful candidate will be contracted for two months. The engagement is expected to begin in March 2022, for 20 days per month, until May 2022.
With the ongoing pandemic and community quarantine, all work will be performed remotely until such a time that in-person gatherings are possible. A communications stipend is provided to ensure proper connectivity with the team. In-person meetings and travel will be considered once quarantines are lifted and the organization deems these safe and necessary.
The candidate must be a Filipino citizen, and may be based anywhere in the Philippines. Highly motivated young leaders are encouraged to apply.
